So, it's my first post - welcome :) Lot's of people have been asking me what I will be writing about and I'm still not sure. I think it'll be one of these projects that evolve over time and because I haven't blogged before it will be a learning experience (much like most of the next 6 months will be I'm sure). Watch this space though and I hope that you'll enjoy reading it.
Tonight I have been getting ready for my departure on Monday...it's been an interesting experience, mostly because I have found out that I am completely incapable of packing for this trip. Those who know me will know that I have quite a lot of stuff - the usual clothes and shoes, but then stuff.....this encompasses everything else that is not the afore mentioned. This is stuff that I have kept for the last four years in London, obviously haven't ever used, yet think I still need it (and want to take it with me). Does this mean I'm hoarder and who has the same problem?
Also, packing for 6 months is impossible (something else that confirms I'm a hoarder?). Especially when you have to carry it all. I mentioned on twitter earlier that I'd like to be Beyonce as she doesn't pack light (for one of many reasons - she's also a bit fabulous), and was directed to the fact that she doesn't carry it (thanks M). So, from here on out I am packing light. My sisters may also suggest otherwise, twice tonight they have visited me to laugh - thanks for the support guys :p
You'll be glad to hear that the packing is pretty much there now and I'm getting ready for my return back to London tomorrow. thank you to the family for putting up with me taking over a whole room of those in order to complete this task.
Tomorrow will be my last night in London before flying to India. London, a city that has so many memories I couldn't even begin to write them down. The ones that will stick are from this last week. I've never been good at saying good bye to people, and there's been a fair few this week. I won't bore you all with the detail, only to say thank you - I've been bowled over and at times speechless (yes, hard to believe) by the effort and support that those close to me have gone to. I will miss you all xxx
I'm going on now...maybe because it's late, so, I'll shut up. The final thing to tell/show you is this (a bit like what you did at school)......These are the shoes worn to complete the packing. I know they're not practical but at least I was 'well-heeled'. And no, they're not going with me.
Music listened to has been a mixture of tunes that remind me of London good times, including the epic, 'Low' - T Pain. Those of you who frequented Tiger Tiger (mainly on Monday nights) in 2008/9 will know why I have a lot of love for this song. For a definition of 'Apple Bottom' please visit the trusty Wikipedia here. Also, Ben Westbeech - I know many of you are already big fans. Saw him at Secret Garden Party this year and he's definitely worth keeping an eye on. Here's a track for tonight - Taken away from
Thanks for reading, and please do all send me your thoughts (good and bad) - I'm looking forward to getting out there and being able to tell you about all that I've been doing.
